• Renovating our flat in a ±250-year-old Georgian house has been interesting: Setbacks as well as pleasant surprises, one of which has been the incredibly skilled craftsmen we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with. James Allen is one of the best; bringing him in to deal with large - almost 3 meters high - sash windows in a very sorry state after years of neglect was a brilliant choice. We were concerned not only by the disrepair and difficulty in using but to preserve the glass panes that told a history of the house: Some Georgian, some Victorian and a few, cloudy World War II glass.
James and his son Sam took on the task and a few weeks later we were rewarded with windows that are easily raised and lowered, rattle free and much more sound and draught proof. I am very impressed with James meticulous attention to detail, his knowledge of period features, a welcome work ethic and his dedication to the project. I cannot recommend James and Sash Windows of Bath highly enough; he was punctual, friendly, skilled and the very reasonable price was exactly as agreed beforehand - a pleasure to have in our flat. The quality of work is such that I doubt we shall need any work on our windows for a very long time but I would want to hire no one else should the need arise. - Marty P
• James has absolutely transformed our large bay windows. In addition to eliminating all the drafts, the noise has been significantly reduced and they work perfectly for the first time in years. James has an impeccable eye for detail and a great work ethic, and I plan to use him for years to come. - D. Aharoni
• Our project consisted of 24 sash windows - not a small job by any stretch of the imagination. We had over countless sash window companies. I actually met James walking past him on another job and was surprised to see that he was working on a bank holiday.
We had a really tight schedule as our building was rented to 15 different tenants all of which James was able to keep happy. His work was fantastic and he always thought economically without compromising the look of the window. On many occasions I would tell James to buy new but he insisted on using the old parts of the window as he could modernise them and they would be a much better fit. Our windows now are fully draft proof and look fantastic and have a new lease of life. James was very tidy and always on time. If he had other people work on site they were as respectful as himself. Furhtermore when we started to run over the schedule James made up by working at the weekend. Could not recommend him more." - Aftica Limited.
• Sash Windows of Bath undertook work on the sash windows of my terrace house in the summer of 2013. The work consisted of draught-proofing, re-hanging and painting of about 30 windows.. It was completed in an efficient, timely and professional manner and I have not had any problems. I would recommend their services. - J. Johnson
